  AM / PM - Arrival, met by your chauffeur guide and transfer to Negombo. Rest of the day at leisure

OVERNIGHT – THE BEACH - NEGOMBO

AM-  Visit the Muthurajawala marshes one of the islands most important wetland habitats encompassing 3100 ha of marshland and mangrove forest out of which  1000 ha is a declared sanctuary and is the seasonal home to many migrant  shorebirds such as Herons and egrets which can be seen in abundance.

PM –
Enjoy a boat trip on the Negombo lagoon and another good opportunity to spot  some birds.

OVERNIGHT – THE BEACH – NEGOMBO

AM-Leave for Sinharaja, en-route visit Bodhinagala, a small area of about 50 acres of secondary rainforest situated at Ingiriya in the Kalutara district and about a two hour drive from the Colombo. This lowland tropical rainforest  environment is home to a varied species of flora and fauna and a particularly excellent place for bird watching and some of the birds found here include the brown headed-barbet, layards-parakeet, Alexandrine parakeet among many other endemic birds which include Sri lanka jungle fowl, Spur fowl  and the Green-billed coucal which is regarded as one of the rarest.

Arrive at Sinharaja Rainforest and relax.

OVERNIGHT – BOULDER GARDEN – KALAWANA

AM – Early morning visit Sinharaja Rain Forest, .(Pick- nick breakfast to be arranged). a World Heritage site and Sri Lanka’s last remaining patch of  virgin rain forest and of the few left in the world,  It is a unique lowland rainforest type in the entire subcontinent This is the jewel in Sri Lanka’s conservation crown, combining high bio diversity with spectacular  scenery and very much famous for its endemic bird life

PM – At leisure or Optional afternoon visit of the rainforest.

OVERNIGHT – BOULDER GARDEN – KALAWANA

AM - Leave for Embilipitiya. Arrive at the Centuriya Hotel and relax.

PM –
declared as the 5th National park in 1972 and is renowned for it’s outstanding scenic beauty and wealth of faunal species, particularly mammals and birds and its terrain allows one to view Elephants at very close range.

OVERNIGHT – CENTURIYA HOTEL – EMBILIPITIYA

OVERNIGHT – PEACOCK BEACH HOTEL – HAMBANTOTA

AM – Vist Bundala National Park which was initially declared as a sanctuary during the later part of 1969 and on 15th October 1990 was designated a wetland of International importance The park area is 6,216 hectares and mainly consist of 4 brackish lagoons, salt pans, marshes, thorny scrub lands, sand dunes, dry mixed ever green forests and dry grass lands extremely popular with both local  and migratory birds. especially waders. There are both resident and migratory species. Greater Flamingo, Spot-billed Pelican, Lesser Adjutant and Black- necked Stork are among the large birds. Large flocks of terns, gulls, sand-pipers, snipes, teals, cormorants, egrets and many more water birds are commonly seen. About 167 bird species have been recorded in this National Park.

OVERNIGHT – PEACOCK BEACH HOTEL – HAMBANTOTA

AM – Leave for Galle, en-route, visit Kalametiya Bird Sanctary, situated between Tangalle and Hambantota. declared as a wildlife sanctuary in 1938. the  sanctuary is rich with lagoons and mangrove swamps which attract a number of winter migrant birds.There are four nationally threatened birds found within  the Sanctuary - Indian Reef Heron, Glossy Ibis, Sri Lankan, Black-capped Purple Kingfisher and the endemic Jungle Fowl. Arrive at Closenberg Hotel  and relax.

OVERNIGHT – CLOSENBERG HOTEL – GALLE

  AM –Visit Kanneliya Forest Reserve Located approximately 3km north-east of Galle and bordering the Kanneliya Dediyagala and Nakiyadeniya towns, one of the remaining rain water ecosystems in Sri Lanka which belongs to the category named Tropical lowland evergreen rainforest. The forest is home to a large number of endemic reptiles, amphibians, mammals and an incredible amount of avifauna. (Packeted breakfast and lunch to be arranged)

OVERNIGHT – CLOSENBERG HOTEL – GALLE

AM – Leave for Colombo, en-route, Visit the old Dutch fort, a World heritage site. and a Turtle hatchery. Arrive at Havelock Bungalow and relax .

PM – At leisure

OVERNIGHT – HAVELOCK BUNGALOW – COLOMBO
